James Abrahams read Law at St Anne's College, Oxford where he obtained a BA and BCL. He was also a scholar of St Anne's and twice winner of the Law Prize. He was called to the Bar in 1997 as a scholar of Gray's Inn. James became a member of Chambers in 1999.
James specialises in all areas of intellectual property law. His practice covers patents; copyright, design right, moral rights, database right and similar rights; registered designs; trade marks and passing off; breach of confidence; and competition law aspects of intellectual property. James also practices in areas related to intellectual property law, in particular media and entertainment and data protection law.
He is a co-author of the "Trade Marks and Trade Names" title of Halsbury's Laws of England (4th ed., 2000 Reissue) and a contributor to Bullen & Leake & Jacob's Precedents of Pleadings (14th ed., 2001). James regularly gives lectures and seminars to solicitors and other professionals concerning developments in intellectual property law and litigation
