Members of chambers receive instructions from a wide range of professional clients. These include city and regional firms of solicitors, patent or trade mark agents who regularly handle intellectual property cases and smaller firms with a one-off case. Instructions also come from in-house lawyers. We accept instructions from recognised professional bodies under the Bar Council direct professional access scheme and from clients registered under the BarDIRECT scheme. Members of chambers also regularly accept instructions through the Public Access Scheme; please see the Bar Council's website for more information. Foreign lawyers regularly instruct chambers on advisory matters. Enquiries about instructing members of chambers may be directed to the Senior Clerk, John Call, or any member of the clerking team.
Barristers at 8 New Square handle litigation for some of the leading commercial organisations around the world, as well as for individuals and smaller companies or firms. Resources are available to deal with large-scale trials as well as speedy applications.
Members of chambers have extensive experience in obtaining and resisting interlocutory injunctions and similar orders. We have always been at the forefront in trying to develop creative remedies to meet the changing needs of clients - one former member of chambers is credited with inventing the Anton Piller order.
